Wee Folk Wooden Dolls are an essential component of imaginative play and are found in Waldorf schools around the world.
Minimal detail on these simple humanistic wooden forms ensure that it is the imagination of the child that lend them life, character, mood and expression. Bloon Toys Wee Folk wooden dolls are made using four different types of wood - maple, steam beech, white oak and teak... and so the wee folk are much like all of us - unique, with our own character and quirks - yet similar, and part of a whole.
Just leave it to the children to create their own narratives as they play, and watch to see their inner worlds at work - which, before language, find expression in self-directed play.
Each wee person has been hand crafted, hand-sanded smooth, and finished with tung oil and pure beeswax making them perfectly soft and smooth for little hands, as well as totally mouth-safe.
Sets are available in options of:
Four (4) - 2 adults, and 2 children
Eight (8) - 4 adults and 4 children, or
Sixteen (16) - 8 adults and 8 children
all in 4 types of wood.
Please note: clothes and accessories are not included, but can be made simply using fabric scraps - attached with our beeswax :)
Adults are 8cm tall, while children are 6cm tall.
They can be used by children aged 2 years and up.
