Felt Balls (Large)
The simplest most classic toy and invitation to play across ages, a bunch of large palm-sized felt balls, are an essential addition to any play-space right from infant cots to adult homes.
A Felt ball is often the first favourite toy of any baby - it's lightweight, easy to hold, and has inherent movement. For Friedrich Fröbel (an architect and the inventor of kindergarten) the ball was the first 'gift' given to a child, because it was a whole and complete form, from which everything else was later derived.
The Felt balls help a child begin to distinguish form, colour and movement - the most macro qualities of the physical universe. They're also early physical activity that improve eye-hand coordination and gross motor control.
Later on the felt balls can (of course!) be integrated into all manner of play!
Bloon Toys felt balls are made using 100% pure wool, and dyed using natural dyes (indigo, madder, lac, the bark of acacia and the leaves of mulberry), so they're safe for exploration - touch, feel - even mouthing.
The gentle palette of colours makes them nice to have around, cheerful additions while remaining soothing and not being over-stimulating. A bag contains 6 balls in 3 colours, each 3" in diameter.
They can be hand-washed in cold water with a mild detergent.
Ages 1 year to adulthood.
